Thoppil House offers three spacious tastefully-furnished rooms for accommodation. Amenities in each room include air-conditioning, attached baths with cold and hot water facilities round the clock, an LCD TV with most national and international channels and kettles for guests to help themselves to instant tea or coffee whenever required.
Apart from these usual facilities, Thoppil House offers many other features that make it more home-like than hotels and an ideal place to unwind and relax – making it truly a 'home stay'.
Clients are served breakfast only. Home-cooked food is the speciality and Mrs. Saramma John, apart from being a fine hostess, is an exceptional cook. Hailing from Ranni-Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta district, traditional south Kerala cuisine is her forte, though she is also adept at cooking continental food. The culinary treat she can cook for breakfast includes local food such as puttu and kadala, idiyaappam, appam with chicken stew to name a few. Apart from typical Kerala breakfast, guest can also have the usual Toast with Omelette or cereals too...
Thoppil House boasts of a very spacious dining area. It also houses a private business centre and a study corner replete with a varied collection of books. A cosy sitting area above the Outhouse overlooks the garden, which is visited by urban birds such as tailor birds, colourful and petite sunbirds and parakeets. If you're lucky you might even catch sight of the occasional palm civet, a nocturnal native mammal much like a short dog. This area serves as a great spot to curl up with a book or just to relax and enjoy nature and rain. The spot is also ideal for informal meetings and discussions.
